Louisiana Crystal Meth Rehabs

Call 1-877-340-3602 for Meth Addiction Help

crystal meth rehabilitationThe country is becoming more and more aware of the crystal meth epidemic, and nowhere is it more of a problem than in Louisiana. This is mostly due to the fact that there is a lot of rural living in this state, allowing for meth to be produced and consumed with less of a chance of detection. Adults and children are seeking the euphoria and larger than life energy that meth promises. But what they forget, or fail to see is that crystal meth is a lethal combination of chemicals that will cause psychosis and death quicker than any other drug.

Residents of this state need to be aware not only of the harmful effects of crystal meth, but also of the signs of crystal meth abuse. Someone who is abusing the drug will change dramatically. Their weight will decrease signficantly, their hygiene will suffer, they will usually develop sores on their bodies (this is from picking at imagi

One of the terrifying things about crystal meth is that it causes a person to become obsessesed with obtaining more and more of the drug. Eventually, their life will revolve around this drug, they will be unable to think of anything else.

crystal meth drug rehab center Most people that are searching for crystal meth rehabs in Louisiana understand that crystal meth is made with very harmful chemicals, but they do not realize exactly what goes into making the drug. We have provided a list of those chemicals here. Please call our drug and alcohol counselors if you have any questions, or if anyone you know is in need of substance abuse help. Crystal meth is made with the following chemicals;

Pseudoephedrine (Sudafed)

Anhydrous ammonia

Red phosphorus (red match tips)

Lithium batteries

Iodine

Drano

Brake Fluid

Butane (lighter fluid)

And a variety of other things. One of the scariest things about crystal meth is that makers are always finding new chemicals to add to the drug to make it more potent and less detectable by law enforcement.

Louisiana Treatment Center Changes Needed

crystal meth drug rehabCrystal meth is becoming such a big problem in the state of Louisiana that in some areas it is replacing crack as the drug of choice. This is mostly due to the low cost and long lasting high that users experience after ingesting this drug. Most of the methamphetamine available in Louisiana is produced in Mexico and the southwestern states and is transported into Louisiana via Mexican Drug Trafficking Organizations. Additionally, more African American groups are turning to teh sale of crystal meth instead of crack cocaine.

Only .5% of 6th graders have reported using crystal meth in their lives, however that percentage increases as children get older. 2.5% of 12th graders in the state of Louisiana have abused crystal meth at least once in their lifetimes.

The Federal government seized a little over 10 kilograms of crystal meth in 2008. There were six meth labs seized in that same year. During 2008, 34.3% of the Federally-sentenced defendants in Louisiana had committed a drug offense. 14.9% of those drug cases involved crystal meth.

According to the El Paso Intelligence Center, there were four children in Louisiana affected by methamphetamine laboratories during 2008.

2008 saw 25,392 admissions to drug and alcohol rehabs in Louisiana. Crystal meth addicts accounted for 718 of those admissions.
